This painting, shown in the previous post, the text used to be visible. It has been a struggle and I feel that it may be getting closer.
This one has not change too much but I am pretty happy with it. Both paintings are 6′ X 4′ on canvas.
These are two 6″ X 4″ canvas pieces I started this week. I tried incorporating some random text and line in the second one. The top piece I have been experimenting with letting ink run down the canvas before I do any painting.
My second 6′ X 4′ painting is based on the division shown by a tideline. A separation of water and earth, light and dark, a feeling of change and journey. To represent these contrasting dynamics, I dramatized the contrast and separation of elements with intense dark and light medias. Mixed with pieces of tideline that cut the canvas vertically, the media plays with sand and natural elements that were collected and placed on the canvas while on-site above.
Here are the results:
These are pieces I am working on in an attempt to capture and hang a tideline canvas free. I had a vision of picking up a tideline and hanging them, seeing all sides of it seemed exciting.
